Dennis K. Armstrong

Jan. 16, 1951 - Dec. 13, 2011

Dennis K. Armstrong, age 60, of Onaway for twelve years, formerly of Detroit, died on Tuesday December 13, 2011 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.  Dennis, the son of Chapin and Delphine “Della” (Wendorf) Armstrong, was born in Detroit on January 16, 1951.  On November 29, 1969 he married Diane Trudell in Detroit.

Dennis retired in 1991 from Metal Builders where he worked as a steel worker doing building construction.  Dennis enjoyed playing pool, solving crossword puzzles, and reading.  He enjoyed watching police and criminal dramas on television.  He was patriotic and supported our troops by “adopting a soldier”.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Clairan Armstrong of Detroit; sons, Dennis Armstrong, Jr. of Onaway and Timothy Armstrong of Detroit; grandchildren, Meghan, Raymond, Kailey, and Makayla; sister, Linda Anderson of Detroit; and former wife, Diane.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Chapin and Della Armstrong; brother, Raymond Armstrong; and nephew, Nathan Skebo.

Funeral Services were held in Lincoln Park on Sunday December 18, 2011.  A graveside service was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tower on Monday December 19, 2011.  It has been suggested by the family that donations in memory of Dennis be sent to Timothy Armstrong to help with funeral expenses.
