Rudolph C. Salamino, Sr. “Rudy”
Rudy’s working years were spent as an installation technician in the heating, cooling, and ventilation business. After moving to Onaway he worked for Standard Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling and for a short time worked for Kip's Plumbing and Heating. Rudy was an avid fan of the Red Wings. He enjoyed all sports, especially playing pool and was on the Northland Bar Senior Pool League. Rudy had a great respect for our veterans and when he lived downstate belonged to the Am Vets Sons and VFW Sons. After moving to Onaway he joined the Sons of the American Legion and became a member of the Millersburg Eagles.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Jeanene T. Salamino of Onaway; son, Rudy Jr. (Tina) Salamino of Mt. Clemens; brothers, David (Gail) of New Mexico and Matthew (Beth) of Clinton Twp.; cousin Joe Charboneau of Clinton Twp. Who was just like a brother to Rudy; step-sons, Andrew (Lisa) Szwast of Shelby Twp. And Matthew Szwast of Detroit; granddaughters, Jessica Salamino and Amber Szwast; grandsons, Matthew Szwast Jr. and Sebastian Szwast who was Rudy’s best fishing buddy; mother-in-law, Theresa J. Gard of Onaway; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding Rudy in death were his parents and three sisters, Nancy, Cindy, and Susan.
Rudy’s family has asked that donations to honor his memory be given to the family to help with expenses.
