Henry A. Crooks, Sr
Henry lived most of his life in the Onaway area. He served as the Mayor of Onaway, Constable, and was on the Onaway Fire Department. For over 35 years Henry owned and operated the Mio Bus Line, expanding routes from West Branch all the way to Mackinaw City. Henry also worked for the Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Department and the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed flower gardening and was often found tending the flowers at Lynn Street Manor. He liked helping people and staying busy.
Surviving are son, Henry A. Crooks, Jr. “Husky” of Interlochen; daughters, Glee (Myles) Elowsky of Onaway, Charmaine (Tom) Douglas of Presque Isle, and Angela Schmidt of Manistee; as well as, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Preceding Henry in death were three sisters and a brother.
Henry’s family has suggested that donations in his memory be given to the Lynn Street Manor Resident Activites Fund, 4255 S. Lynn St., Onaway, MI 49765.
