Imogene Faith
Jac L. Faith, Sr. at the Flint Methodist Church. They made their home in Lapeer until 1986 when they moved to Onaway.
Known as “The Sewing Lady”, Imogene loved her work as a seamstress. She sewed everything from couch cushions to bridal gowns. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and crafting. She loved the outdoors, camping trips and canoeing. Imogene was fond of country music and country music festivals, but her greatest love was for her family and she enjoyed all the time she spent with them. She was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and her face would light up when she spoke about them.
Imogene was devoted to her faith and was a member of the Onaway United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and was involved with the Methodist Youth group. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society and enjoyed going to the Onaway Senior Center. For many years Imogene was a 4-H leader teaching sewing to many of the youth from the area. Together she and her husband were Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders when their children were growing up.
Surviving are her daughters, Becky Pearsall (Gary) of Birch Run, Melody Faith (Steve) of Grand Ledge, and Sara Faith of Tower; sons, Jac L. II and Candy Faith, William Faith, and Thomas Faith, all of Onaway; nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; as well as, brothers, Eugene Harman of Chino Valley, AZ and Lester Knickerbocker of Stevensville. Imogene was preceded in death by her husband, Jac L. Sr. on January 16, 1990 and one brother, Wayne Harman.
Visitation will be held at the Chagnon Funeral Home on Friday February 17, 2012 from 4 pm – 9 pm and will resume on Saturday February 18, 2012 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at the Onaway United Methodist Church. Pastor Josh Blanchard will officiate. Imogene’s final resting place will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tower. In lieu of flowers please remember Imogene with donations to the Onaway United Methodist Church or the Onaway Senior Center.
