Richard Lee Vaughn
Richard “Dick” worked as a boiler operator for the Detroit Board of Education and also for Ford Motor Company from where he retired in 1989. After retirement he enjoyed spending his time traveling by RV across the United States, Canada, and Alaska. Not only did he and Frances enjoy their journeys across the States, but they also enjoyed many voyages by boat on the Great Lakes. Dick also was a race car enthusiast. A hobby he shared with his son, Dick loved racing cars and also enjoyed race car mechanics.
Surviving are Richard’s “pride and joy”, his wife of 62 years, Frances of Cheboygan; sons, Reed (Renae) of Cheboygan and Kevin (Pam) of Ormond Beach, Florida; daughters, Rebecca (Rick) Reynolds of Everett, Washington and Dawn (Brian) Ross of Port Huron; as well as, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The Vaughn family would like to thank the staff at Hancock Haven and Hospice House for all the loving care given to Richard. They also have suggested that donations to honor the memory of Richard L. Vaughn be made to Hospice House, 722 S. Street, Cheboygan, MI 49721. Cremation arrangements were in care of the Chagnon Funeral Home.
