Obituaries

 Joyce Betty Dunn, age 76 of Afton, died June 18, 2006 at her home. Joyce was born in Afton on March 1, 1930 to Alba and Lina (Teatro) Bunker. On July 1, 1950 she was married to Delbert Dunn at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Church in Indian River. Joyce was born and raised in Afton. She and Delbert moved to Pontiac shortly after they were married where they worked and raised their family. In 1982, they returned home to the Afton area. Joyce worked at Kmart as a cashier and was also a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Onaway VFW Ladies Auxiliary and attended church at the Cross in the Woods and St. Monica's in Afton. Joyce enjoyed sewing, knitting, flower and vegetable gardening, bowling, and spending time with her family. She especially however, loved the winters she and Del spent in Florida. Joyce will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Delbert of Afton; daughter, Delene Tiernan of North Branch; son, John "Jack" (Stacey) Dunn of Afton; 7 grandchildren, Michael and Madelyn Tiernan; Michelle Brace; and Jonathan, Preston, Fallyn, and Tyten Dunn; and 3 great grandchildren, Dakkota and Dawson Brace; and Savannah Spence. She will also be missed by her brothers, Keith, Gail, Roger and Mickey Bunker all of Indian River; and David Bunker of Vanderbilt; sister, Nettie Marsh of Ocqueoc; brother-in-laws, Bud (Marcella) Dunn of Afton and Jim (Anna) Dunn of Mesa, Arizona; and sister-in-laws, Orphie Cradit of Onaway; Donna (Lyle) Diller of Black Lake; Rosemary (Bob) Rugg of Rochester and Dorothy Grahn of Westland. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jimmy, Duane and Clarence Bunker; and sister, Betty Bunker.
