Obituaries

Karrol Katherine Elick, age 80 of Black Lake, died September 1, 2006 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Karrol was born in Highland Park on May 2, 1926 to Philip and Dorothy (Beyer) Kemp. On July 19, 1947 she married Joseph G. Elick at St. David's Catholic Church in Detroit. Karrol worked for the Social Security Administration until 1985 in the St. Clair Shores area where she lived. Karrol and her husband then moved to Black Lake in 1988. Karrol loved the outdoors. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid golfer and bowler. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 59 years, Joseph of Black Lake; sons, Christopher Elick of Cheboygan and David Elick of Hawks; and 5 grandchildren. Karrol will also be missed by her brother-in-law, Ted Elick of Ocqueoc; niece, Sue (Jim) Wickert of Black Lake; and nephew, Teddy Elick of Lincoln Park. She was preceded in death by her parents; and niece, Joyce Elick.
