Michael Morell, age 82 of Onaway, died January 21, 2006 at the Hospice House in Cheboygan. Michael was born in Sanilac Township on February 6, 1923 to Isadore and Josephine (Osentoski) Morell. He moved to Onaway from Ubly, in the "thumb", in 1961. Mike was a farmer all his life and truly enjoyed it. He also liked playing the accordian, car racing and loved to go to races at the Onaway Speedway. Mike will be sadly missed by his sons, Virgil (JoAnn) Morell, Ronald Morell, Jeff (Tammy) Morell, George Morell,
Michael (Mary) Morell all of Onaway and Daniel Morell of Hubbard Lake; daughters, Jenny (Stan) Chaskey of Onaway; Josephine (Charlie) Brumfield of Logansville, Georgia; Emma (Donald) Wise of Ossineke and Michele Martin of Onaway; 27 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his brothers, Arthur (Pauline) Morell of Ubly and Floyd Morell; and sisters, Irene Guarnieri of Port Austin; Margaret (Robert) Hey of Bad Axe; Bernice (Stanley) Witkowski of Saginaw and Genevieve (Roland) Gracey of Bad Axe. Mike was preceded in death by his son, Donald Morell; grandsons, Matthew and Ronald Morell; great grandson, Kyan Walker; sisters, Sophie Kubacki and Marie Morell; and brother, John Morell. |
