Alta R. Myers, age 81 of Hillman, formerly of Onaway, died April 22, 2006 at MediLodge of Hillman after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Alta was born in Waverly Township on March 10, 1925 to Herbert and Mamie (Riegle) Frasier. She was born and raised in the Onaway area, a graduate of Onaway High School, and will be remembered as an active member of the community. She was one of the first female licensed insurance agents in the state and one of the first three female agents to own and operate their own insurance agency. She was a long time member of the Onaway Chamber of Commerce, Onaway United Methodist Church, Onaway Historical Society, and was on the building committe for Russell Memorial Hospital. Alta loved to travel and was able to make trips to Europe and Scandinavia, take an Alaskan Cruise, and go on many bus tours throughout the U.S. before her illness. She loved her family. Devoting unending love and attention especially to her grandchildren, Craig and Sara. She was an avid reader, loved to solve crossword puzzles, and in her later years she enjoyed oil painting. Alta will be sadly missed by her daughter, Nancy (Allan) Bruder of Millersburg; grandson, Craig (Jennifer) Bruder of Shaftsbury, Vermont; granddaughter, Sara (Daniel) LaLonde of Millersburg; great grandchildren, Joshua and Connor Bruder both of Shaftsbury, Vermont and Aaron and Ashley LaLonde both of Millersburg. She will also be missed by her brothers, Arden (Bonnie) Frasier of Davison and Robert (Bonnie) Frasier of Onaway; and many nieces and nephews. Alta was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Geraldine Frasier and Freda Woodruff; brothers, Donald, Stanley, Floyd, and Daniel Frasier; and granddaughter, Andrea Diane Bruder. |
