Stanley T. Sajkowski, age 83 of Tower, died August 4, 2006 at the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. Stanley was born in Detroit on December 2, 1922 to Tony and Mary (Drozdowicz) Sajkowski. He was a retired carpenter and attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Onaway. Stanley served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received campaign citations with 4 bronze stars for the Naples-Foggia, Rhineland, Rome-Arno and Central European Battles. He was discharged from military service in October 1945 at Fort Francis E. Warren Wyoming. After returning home, Stanley joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Onaway Post 5857. He will be sadly missed by his sons, Dan (Eileen) Sajkowski of Frankfort, Illinois and Anthony (Sherry) Sajkowski of Shelby Township; granddaughters, Alyssa and Shannon Sajkowski both of Frankfort Illinois; grandson, Ryan Sajkowski of Shelby Township; and sister, Mary Grochowski of Rochester Hills. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; sister, Stella; and granddaughter, Nicole. |
