Helen Margaret Schwiesow, age 84 of Onaway, died June 23, 2006 at the Tendercare Health Center in Rogers City. Helen was born in Onaway on December 26, 1921 to Herman and Minnie (Urlab) Nash. On March 24, 1943 she was married to the late Clayton Baker. Helen was a farmer, homemaker, and a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onaway and the Onaway VFW Ladies Auxiliary. On May 27, 1989 Helen married the late frank Schwiesow at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Helen will be sadly missed by her daughters, Phyllis (John) Vogelheim of Rogers City; Doris Natalie Selke of Harbor Springs; Inez (Ted) Dohm of Harbor Springs; Janice (Rick) Littrell of Levering and Tammy (Dave) Moore of Onaway; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her brother, Clarence (Marge) Nash of Onaway; step-daughters, Rosetta (Dieter) Kleber of Ocqueoc; Louella Byelich of Harrisville and Onnalee (Clarence) Recker of Mt. Pleasant; step-son, Frank Schwiesow of Millersburg; caregiver and friend, Phyllis Armstrong of Onaway; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husbands, Clayton Baker (1968) and Frank Schwiesow (2003); son, Kenneth Baker; great granddaughter, Brittany Warwick; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters. |
