Chester John Stefanski, age 81 of Ocqueoc, formerly of Northville, died July 31, 2006 at his home. Chester was born in Detroit on June 17, 1925 to Dominiak and Celia (Niborski) Stefanski. On October 8, 1949 he was married to Maryanne Drob at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Detroit. Chester and Maryanne owned the Polka Inn in Posen from 1960 until 1972 when they moved to Northville. They then moved to Ocqueoc in 1993 after Stanley retired from Cogsdill Enterprises of Commerce Township where he had worked as a machinist. Stanley served in the U.S. Air Force and was a WWII veteran. He also was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Stanley will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Maryanne of Ocqueoc; and brother, Walter Stefanski of Ortonville. He was preceded in death by his parents. |
