Irene Adele Tredway, age 97 of Onaway, died September 29, 2006 at Lois's Adult Foster Care Home in Onaway. Irene was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 14, 1908 to Casimir and Barbara (Lisowski) Szymoniak. On January 1, 1937 she was married to Paul P. Tredway in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Irene worked for 28 years as an operator and supervisor for Michigan Bell. She was a devoted member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Onaway, a member of the Altar Society at St. Paul's, and also a member of the Progressive Club. Irene enjoyed embroidering and working in her flower gardens. She will be sadly missed by her son, Donald Tredway of Millersburg, Michigan; granddaughters, Angela Tredway and Nicole Tredway both of Bay City; daughter-in-law, Joan Tredway of Bay City; and step-daughters, Paralee Welke and Pauline Williams both of Florida. She will also be missed by her sister, Stella Wright of Onaway; brothers, Richard (Pat) Szymoniak of Millersburg, Walter (Maryanne) Szymoniak of Millersburg, Ed Szymoniak of Millersburg, and Ray (Ruth) Szymoniak of Onaway; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; sisters, Aggie Huyck, Cari Kowalski, and Lou Keesee; brother, Eugene Szymoniak; and step-daughter, Donna Brown. |
