Valerie Ann Wass, age 45 of Onaway, died October 26, 2006 at her home. Valerie was born in Wayne, Michigan on July 19, 1961 to Alfred and Juanita (Searls) Wass. Valerie worked as a bartender for many years at the Metropole in Onaway and the Silver Top in Afton. She also made various wood crafts for several craft shows around the area. Valerie enjoyed shooting pool, shopping, playing on the computer, and making wood crafts. She will be sadly missed by her fiancée and companion of 13 years, Les Butts of Onaway; son, Shawn Wass of Onaway; and granddaughter, Chloe Wass of Onaway. Valerie is also survived by her brother, Frank Wass of Wayne; and sisters, Alice (Tim) Trader of Westland and Karen (Fred) Garms of Detroit. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Thomas, Alfred, and Edward "Buzz" Wass; and sister, Mary Jo Morell. |
