Florance Wendt, age 81 of Onaway, died February 12, 2006 at Tendercare Health Center in Rogers City. Florance was born in Crandon, Wisconsin on March 28, 1924 to Thomas and Effie (Smith) Combs. On August 15, 1942 she was married to Edgar Wendt in Covington, Kentucky. Florance was a homemaker and moved to the Onaway area from Midland in 1955. She enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets. She also liked crocheting, gardening, cooking, and making rugs. Florance will be sadly missed by her sons, Larry Wendt of Onaway; Darwin (Sherron) Wendt of North Muskegon and Mark Wendt of Novi; daughter, Cheryle "Sherrie" Roberts of Onaway; sisters, Josephine Torgerson-LaGesse of Spring Hill, Florida; Dora Rosengard of Bay City and Carol Stalker of Inverness, Florida; brothers, Chester "Jack" Lykins of Annandale, Virginia and Vaughn "Junior" Lykins of Bay City; and sister-in-law, Iva Terryah of Midland. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar; and brothers, Arlyss Combs and Vernon Combs. |
