Winifred E. Cole, age 80 of Onaway, formerly of Mid-Michigan died April 12, 2007 at Tendercare Health Center in Cheboygan. Winifred was born in Ferndale on April 24, 1926 to Fred and Winifred (Wright) Potter. On October 9, 1968 she was married to Frank Cole in St. Louis. Winifred lived most of her life in the Mid-Michigan area and moved to Onaway in 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary of Coleman. Winifred enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, ceramics and reading. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Darwin (Karolyn) Tubbs of Beaverton and Charles (Ginger) Cole of Midland; daughters, Adena Tubbs of Cedar Springs, Judy (Oscar) Hagerman of Farwell and Deborah Honeycutt of Mt. Pleasant; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Ester (Al) Fezatte of West Branch, Violet (Orvel) Tucker of Onaway and Florence Rogers of Fenton; and brother, Fred Potter of Texas. Winifred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; and brothers, Phillip and Shirley Potter. |
