Eli James Coulston, age 26 of Big Rapids, formerly of Onaway, died February 9, 2007 at the Mecosta County General Hospital in Big Rapids. Eli was born in Petoskey on June 14, 1980 to James E. and Jane (Kannowski) Coulston. Eli lived most of his life in Onaway and graduated from Onaway High School in 1998. He was very active in school sports and played football, basketball, baseball, and golf for the Onaway Cardinals. After graduation, Eli attended Lake Superior State University where he earned his Associates degree in 2002. Eli worked at Brewbaker's Furniture and Boyne Highlands before moving away from Onaway. He currently worked for the Bedroom Center of Big Rapids. Eli enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, football, and golf. He liked playing video games on his X-Box and going hunting or fishing with his Dad and Uncle. Eli also enjoyed music, going to concerts, and playing on the computer, including designing his own web-site. He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his mother, Jane (Trueman) Martin of Onaway; father, Jim (Ann) Coulston of Lewiston; sisters, Heddy Jane Coulston of Petoskey and Christa Noel Coulston of Big Rapids; and grandmother, Dolores Lappan of Alpena. Eli will also be missed by his step-sister, Candy (Art) Teran; and step-brothers, Chuck (Stacy) Martin of Traverse City, Phil Smith of California, Kevin (Linda) Smith of Kentucky, Steve (Christina) Smith of Minnesota, and Larry Smith of Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Kannowski; grandparents, Jim and Ruth Coulston; and cousin, Ryan Coulston. |
