Shirley Mae Harris, age 80 of Huron Beach, died Monday, September 10, 2007 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Shirley was born in Plattsburgh, New York on April 29, 1927 to Harold and Phoebe (Lovely) Bullis. On November 23, 1946 she was married to Harold Harris in Detroit. Shirley and Harold moved to the Onaway area from Lincoln Park in 1971. She worked as a bus driver for the UAW Family Education Center and was a member of the card club. Shirley enjoyed reading, playing cards, doing ceramics, and traveling. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Annette (Dave) Cox of Lake Orion and Kyle Harris of Rogers City; sons, Kurt Harris of Lincoln Park and Jim Harris of Allen Park; grandchildren, Courtney and Nicole Cox, Casey Price, Lisa Payne, Missy Bertonica, Mike Harris, Amy Allen, and Christopher Harris; great grandchildren, Memphis, Brooke, Sean, Jacob, Nichole, James, and Olive; and brother, Bill Bullis of Chicago, Illinois. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Harris (9-17-1994); and sister, Patsy Lovely. |
