Dale "Hopp" Hopkinson, age 66 of Flint, formerly of Millersburg, died November 18, 2007 at his home. Dale was born in St. Ignace on August 11, 1941 to Clyde and Leona (Archanbeau) Hopkinson. On April 21, 1973 he was married to Diana Lawson in Walled Lake. Hopp grew up in the Millersburg area and although he lived away for years, he always enjoyed returning home to visit family and friends. Until 2005, Dale owned and operated "Dale's Carnage" which specialized in construction clean-up. He was a member of the Joker's Motorcycle Club and the Scorpion's Motorcycle Club. Hopp's greatest passion was in riding motorcycles, going 4-wheeling and snowmobiling, and the outdoors. He enjoyed working, but he especially liked going on vacation. Dale will be sadly missed by his daughters, Wendy Tidwell and Cheryl Hawkins both of Byron, Penny Hopkinson of Tower, and Bertha Hopkinson of Flint; sons, Edward (Kelly) Hawkins of Durand, Frederick (Anna) Hawkins of Byron, and Fred (Jennifer) and Barry Hopkinson both of Cheboygan; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; twin sister, Gale (Ted) Riley of Millersburg; brother, John (Marion) Hopkinson of Fenton; and many nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diana; and sister, Dorine Grainger. |
