Edward J. McGuire, age 80 of Black Lake, died October 13, 2007 at his home. Edward was born in Brevort on July 19, 1927 to Van and Violet (McArdell) McGuire. On October 27, 1947 he was married to Ellen Rochefort in Ohio. Edward served the U.S. Marines and then joined the Army during WWII serving as a paratrooper in the Philippines. In 1976 he and Ellen moved to the Black Lake area. Edward worked as the Marina Manager at the Anchor Inn of Cheboygan until his retirement in 1995. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Ellen McGuire of Black Lake; sons, Dennis McGuire of Onaway, Doug (Jackie) McGuire of Central Lake, and Mike (Carolyn) McGuire of Cheboygan; daughter, Susan (Michael) Wojciechowski of Shelby Township; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Pearl) McGuire of Anderson, Indiana and Mickey McGuire of Thompsonville; and sister, Phyllis Carmean of Thompsonville. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Ken, and George McGuire; and daughter-in-law, Suzette McGuire. |
