Clyde Marvin McQuaid, Sr., age 63 of Onaway died February 24, 2007 at his home. Clyde was born in Midland on August 14, 1943 to Chester and Georgina (Wilson) McQuaid. On June 2, 1962 he was married to Sylvia L. Kline in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Clyde was a lifelong resident of Onaway and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the IBEW Local 876. He served in the Navy on the USS Nitro in the Mediterranean from 1960 - 1964. Clyde was a member of the American Legion Post and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, taking his grandkids camping and fishing, tending to his rosebushes, picking rocks, and going for rides. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Sylvia of Onaway; sons, Bucky (Sue) McQuaid of Onaway and Shawn (Joslyn) McQuaid of Afton; daughter, Millisa (Larry) Robinson of Onaway and Shannon (Dwayne) Gagnon of Wolverine; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Sally (Pete) Witkowski of Mt. Morris and Joy Bisanz of Alpena; and many nieces and nephews. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol; granddaughter, Karyl; and daughter-in-law, Cara. |
