Obituaries

Lynn Burdette Orcutt, age 95 of Millersburg, died December 6, 2007 at his home. Lynn was born in Birdsall, New York on October 24, 1912 to Walter Burdette and Olive (White) Orcutt. On October 24, 1933 he was married to Leona Pearl Wilson at her parent's home in Millersburg. Lynn lived in the Onaway area most of his life. He worked as a farmer, a carpenter, and a mechanic. Lynn owned and operated Mid-County Shell Service in Millersburg and then worked as a mechanic at Tony Moll in Rogers City. For many years he was a member and a deacon at the Ocqueoc Baptist Church. Lynn was a very Christian man devoted to his faith and was currently a member of the North Country Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and painting pictures. Lynn was always tinkering and fixing something to make it work again. His great passion was for music. He loved to play the violin and entertain with his music. Lynn will be sadly missed by his daughters, Gwendolyn Hoeft and Janet (Edgar "Fox") Schaedig both of Alpena and Cheryl (Michael "Mick") Chapman of Millersburg; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 4 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Leona (2003); and brothers, Alton, Darwin, Clyde, and Lyle Orcutt.
