Arlene Louise Swan, age 94 of Onaway, died November 29, 2007 at Lois' AFC Home in Onaway. Arlene was born in Bellevue on June 3, 1913 to William and Bertha (Goodwin) Becraft. On January 16, 1931 she was married to Harold Swan in Union City. Arlene was a homemaker and a farmer. She and Harold moved to Onaway from Charlotte in 1941. Arlene was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Atlanta. Being a farmer there was not a lot of time for hobbies, but Arlene did enjoy cooking, baking, and canning. She was known to make the best bread and donuts around. She took much pride in her housework and washing and found comfort in reading her Bible. Arlene will sadly be missed by her daughters, Lillian Prow of Onaway and Carolyn (Gary) Zampich of Millersburg; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 15 great, great grandchildren; and half-brother, Vance Cheeseman of Vermontville. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 71 years, Harold (2001); son-in-laws, Les Tennant and Art Prow; brothers, Francis and Ivan Becraft; and half-sister, Alice Bisel. |
