Helen Lyle Taylor, age 88 of Onaway, died April 24, 2007 at Tendercare of Cheboygan. Helen was born in Alpena on August 22, 1918 to William and Lelen (Larson) Robarge. She graduated from Rogers City High School in 1935 and County Normal in 1937. She was a teacher at Grand Lake until 1939 when she married Harold Charles Taylor in Alpena. Helen stayed home to raise her children and after they were grown went to work at the Onaway Hospital where she retired from several years later. She was a member of the Onaway United Methodist Church and the Eastern Stars. Helen lived most of her life in the Onaway area and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and working in her flower gardens. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Rodney (Mona) Taylor of Jacksonville, Florida, Larry (Carol) and Jim (Sandie) Taylor both of Onaway; daughter, Cindy Rhein of Onaway; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Taylor; and brothers, Howard and William Robarge. |
