Betty Rae Tibbits, age 71 of Erwin, Tennessee, formerly of Onaway, died November 8, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Tennessee. Betty was born in Bellevue, Ohio on November 21, 1935 to Raymond Marjorie Kutz. On May 13, 1961 she was married to James Tibbits in Monroe, Michigan. Betty and Jim lived in Onaway from 1967-1988 while raising their family before relocating to Erwin where they made their home for the last twenty years. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Central Christian Church, Jonesborough. She loved playing Mahjong at the Senior Citizens Center in Erwin. Betty enjoyed collecting dolls, roosters, and all kinds of antiques and also liked to crochet and tat. Betty will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 46 years, James Tibbits of Erwin; sons, Glenn (Robin) and James Miller both of Roscommon, Randy (Shelly) Tibbits of Onaway and Wayne (Linda) Tibbits of Glasgow, Kentucky; daughters, Linda (Jerry) Northrop of Grayling and Pamela (John) Hathaway of Zeeland; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sisters, Connie (Clifford) Mesnard of Live Oak, Florida and Lois (Bill) Kreh of Tiffin, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant son, Victor Tibbits. |
