Obituaries

Dorothy (Kamin) VanBeek, age 87 of Black Lake formerly of Visnaw Court, St. Clair Shores, died January 18, 2007 at her home. Dorothy was born in Dearborn on November 11, 1919 to Eugene and Demerise (Goupie) Precour. On November 13, 1948 she was married to Harold Kamin at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Onaway. Dorothy worked as a registered nurse at Providence Hospital and Mt. Clemens General. She lived in St. Clair Shores from 1948 until November of 2004 when she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Dorothy was a member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores and the Shores Senior Group. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and traveling. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughters, Carol (Rick) Fidler of Black Lake, Sandra Ford of Ortonville and Karen Kamin of Roseville; grandsons, Jason (Laura) Fidler of Oxford, Jonathon (Katie) Fidler of Holt, Joel (Nichole) Fidler of North Branch, Christopher Ford of Lake Orion and Paul Brunsman Jr. of Roseville; granddaughters, Kelly Ford of Ortonville and Nicole (Scott) Brunsman-Osborn of Clinton Township; and great grandchildren, Emily and Colin Fidler of Oxford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kamin (1985); granddaughter, Amy Brunsman; sister, Marie Schell; and brothers, Eugene and Elmer Precour.
