Jack Allyn Wilderspin, age 84 of Black Lake, died February 8, 2007 at his home. Jack was born on January 6, 1923 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Alfonzo Wilderspin and Grace (Woodward) and stepfather, Floyd Dority. During WWII, Jack served his country in the Marine Corp. and there he met and married Mildred Ilene Emerson who was also serving as a Marine. They were married on December 21, 1944 in North Carolina. Jack and Ilene resided in Flint for many years where he worked as a supervisor for Complete Auto Transit before starting his own trucking business, Auto Haul, Inc. In 1985, Jack sold his business and moved permanently to his second home "Up North" at Black Lake. Jack was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Onaway VFW Post 5857. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by his wife of 62 years, Ilene of Black Lake; daughter, Mary Kay of Frankenmuth; son, Dan (Jan) Wilderspin of Onaway; 5 grandchildren, Dawn Caldwell, Jason (Kim) Wilderspin, Erik (Amie) Frank, Amy (Jeff) Holloway, and Christy (Chris) Robbins; and 7 very special great grandchildren, Kelsie, Noah, Lauren, Leah, Jackson, Erik, and Samantha. Jack is also survived by a sister, Lila Clothier of National City and sister-in-law, Gloria Wilderspin of Flint. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean (1970); daughter, JoAnn (1955); grandson, Tony Wilderspin (2005); brother, Don; step-brother, Bud; and step-sister, Lila "Sis". |
