Carson Kenneth Workman, age 77 of Onaway, died December 5, 2007 at his home. Carson was born in Detroit on May 23, 1930 to Inos and Florence (Lickman) Workman. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline, as a history teacher for Alanson Public Schools, and a small business owner. He also owned a gas station in Alanson and a motel in Boyne Mountain. Carson was a veteran of the Korean War, serving the United States Navy. He spent time coaching basketball and track in Alanson. Carson loved the outdoors. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, and mushroom picking. He also enjoyed investing, reading, and antiquing. Carson will be sadly missed by his daughters, Kathleen "Katie" Workman of Santa Rose, California, Paula Workman (James Cannon) of Dover, Delaware, Carla Uphaus of San Diego, California, and Beth Workman of Ypsilanti; son, Kenneth Workman of San Diego, California; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Tom Workman of Webberville, Jim Workman of Charlotte, Murray Workman of Ionia, and Alfred Workman of Pennsylvania; and sisters, Joan Himelick of Madera, California and Bernice Schuchaskie of Fowlerville. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Inez and Marlene; and brother, Bill. |
