Obituaries

Carrie B. Parris Alexander, age 61 of Onaway, died September 6, 2008 at her home.
Carrie was born in Cheboygan on July 14, 1947 to William H. and June M. (Lucier) Brown. On August 20, 1971 she was married to Patrick John Parris, Sr. in Rogers City. She worked as a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of Presque Isle and Cheboygan Counties. On July 16, 1995 she married George Alexander in Onaway. Carrie was a member of the Women's Pool League in Onaway and Cheboygan. She enjoyed shooting pool, reading, singing, crafting, and baking. Carrie was known for her delicious cakes and bread. She took pride in making the wedding cakes for each of her children's weddings. Carrie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Roger (Rhonda) Brown of Onaway and John Parris, Jr. of Cheboygan; daughters, Donna (Chris) Tovar of Onaway, Melinda (Joseph, Jr.) Mallette, Mary (Benjamin) Nelson, and Patsy (Kelly) Ortiz all of Cheboygan; 25 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; campanion, Douglas Nelson of Onaway; brothers, Mitchell (Phyllis) Brown and Dennis Brown both of Cheboygan and Daniel (Diane) Brown of Seneca, NY; and sisters, Evonne (Richard) Ormsbee of Vanderbilt, Nancy Morgan of New Orleans, LA, and Victoria (Garry) Moore of Westland.
Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick John Parris, Sr. (December 10, 1988) and husband, George Alexander (January 23, 2000); brothers, David and Billie Brown; sister, Cooki Brown; and her parents.
