Joseph R. Babuska, age 76 of Canada Creek Ranch, formerly of Detroit, died March 14, 2008 at Alpena Regional Medical Center.
Joseph was born in Detroit on August 7, 1931 to Joseph and Cora (Polozyk) Babuska. On May 30, 1953 he was married to Rose Mary Brycz in Detroit.
Joseph moved to Canada Creek Ranch 14 years ago from Detroit. He was a member of the Canada Creek Ranch Association and St. Christopher's Church and Choir. Joe retired in 1986 after working 30 years for the City of Detroit Forestry Division as a landscaper. He is a veteran of the Korean War serving the United States Air Force. For 17 years Joe enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Christopher's. He was proud to have sung with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and also in New York at St. Patrick's Cathedral. His other hobbies included doing stained glass and wood carving.
Joe will be sadly missed by his wife of 55 years, Rose of Canada Creek Ranch; sons, Robert (Randy) Babuska of Scotts, Randy (Marian) Babuska of Longmont, Colorado, Ronald (Pamela) Babuska of Columbus, Ohio, and Joseph (Dori) Babuska of Livonia; daughters, Paula VanLanghoven of Lancaster, California and Cynthia (Tony) DeRose of San Rafael, California; 11 grandchildren; 3 sisters; and a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother. |
