Obituaries

David T. Cooley, age 71 of Black Lake, died December 27, 2008 at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey.
David was born in Fenton on December 7, 1937 to Eugene and Helen (Lumbert) Cooley. On April 2, 1960 he was married to Margaret "Jean" Wood at the Fenton Methodist Church.
 David was a graduate of Fenton High School and Ferris State University. In 1991, he retired from Fisher Body in Lansing where he worked as a material controller for 31 years. David and Jean moved to Black Lake from Mason in 1994. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Jaycees, Masonic Lodge, and was a Waverly Township Trustee. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shopping for antiques. He also was a pilot and liked to help anyone in need. David loved to take time to sit and look out at the lake.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Jean of Black Lake; daughters, Ann (Doug) Miller of St. Johns and Lynda (John) Warner of Royal Oak; granddaughter, Claire Miller of St. Johns; grandsons, Peter, Graham, and Nathan all of Royal Oak; and brothers, Dick (Wanda) Cooley of Flint, Jim Cooley of Detroit, and John (Anne) Cooley of Kalamazoo.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
