Obituaries

Albert Arthur Domke, age 89 of Traverse City, formerly of Millersburg, died February 19, 2008 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City.
Albert was born in Ocqueoc Township on November 18, 1918 to Albert S. and Anna (Ostrofski) Domke. On October 18, 1941 he was married to Lillian Bey at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ossineke.
Albert was a lifelong resident of the Onaway area and worked as a farmer for most of his life. For 18 years he worked as a bus driver for the Onaway Area School System and retired in 1986. Albert was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ocqueoc. He served on the church council for many years. He was also a member of the Retired School Personnel, the Farm Bureau, and a member of the ASCS for over 20 years. Albert enjoyed traveling, camping, and gardening. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a true handy man, able to fix things and make them work with his ingenuity. 
Albert will be sadly missed by his son, Albert (Carol) Domke of West Battle Lake, Minnesota; daughter, Carol (Larry) Williams of Traverse City; grandchildren, Timothy (Lynn), Troy (Karen), and Todd Domke, and Christine and Kathleen Williams; great grandchildren, Zachary, Emerson, and Rhiannon Domke, Kiely Maddasion, and Domenic Wilkes; sisters, Josephine Boboltz of Ossineke and Marie Allen of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and brothers, Marvel (Dorothy) Domke of Woodland Park, Colorado, Morris (Alisia) Domke, Sr. of Edmondton, Alberta, Canada, Herbert (Christina) Domke of Sears, Benedict (Carrie) Domke of Ocqueoc, and Otis (Shirley) Domke of Campbell, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lillian
(August 31, 2007); sisters, Ester Foldoe, Anna Schwiesow, and Mayend Krey; and brothers, Paul and Bruno Domke
