Clifford J. Gable, Jr., age 74 of Black Lake, formerly of Madison Heights, died May 26, 2008 at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital.
Cliff was born in Hazel Park on June 4, 1933 to Clifford J. and Wilma (Warner) Gable, Sr. On May 18, 1958 he was married to the late Jennie Scott in Hazel Park.
Cliff retired in 1984 from Republic Steel where he began working after graduating from high school. He served 8 years in the Army/Army Reserve. Cliff had vacationed and visited family in the Onaway area all of his life. He moved to his home on Black Lake in 1990 from Madison Heights. On
October 16, 1990 he married Arla Camp at Black Lake. Cliff enjoyed hunting, fishing, and restoring his Model T. He was always tinkering or fixing something and was very helpful to his neighbors on the Lake.
Cliff will be sadly missed by his wife, Arla Gable of Black Lake; son, Steve (Tammie) Gable of Indian River; daughter, Karen (Kevin) Breslin of Lake Orion; granddaughter, Caitlin (Billy) Trusty of Texas; grandson, Sean Gable of Indian River; grandchildren, Sarah and Zac Breslin of Lake Orion; step-sons, Scott Bishop and Jesse Reutter both of Onaway; step-daughter,
Kathy (Dean) Johnston of Onaway; brother, Fred (Edna) Gable of Detour; and sisters, Marge (Tony) Korzeniewski and Barb (George Dobbs) Fournier both of Onaway.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Sr. and Wilma; and
wife, Jennie (1986). |
