William Darl Neiswonger, age 83 of Huron Beach, formerly of Hazel Park, died June 1, 2008 at Golden Beach Manor on Huron Beach. Bill was born in Fairmount City, Pennsylvania on August 25, 1924 to Henry and Nora (Bish) Neiswonger. On December 25, 1942 he was married to Clara Louise Buffington in New Salem, Pennsylvania. Bill and Clara have vacationed at their second home on Huron Beach since 1957. In 1982, the couple moved from Hazel Park to Huron Beach after Bill retired from Central Transport in Detroit where he worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Huron Beach Community Church and the American Legion. Bill served in the Pacific during WWII as a medic for the United States Navy. He enjoyed deer hunting, cutting firewood, and gardening. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of over 65 years, Clara Louise of Huron Beach; daughter, Brenda Neiswonger of Huron Beach; son, Gary Neiswonger of Oak Park; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Clair Neiswonger of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law, Cathy Neiswonger of Sumter, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his son, William Darl Neiswonger, Jr., sister, Gladys Boozer; and an infant brother. |
