Alice E. Smith, age 93 of Lowell, formerly of Onaway, Holly, and Fenton, died May 10, 2008 at Fountain View of Lowell.
Alice was born in Case Township (Millersburg) on February 22, 1915 to George W. and Maryann (Milmine) Parris. On November 4, 1933 she was married to John M. Smith in Rogers City.
Alice lived in the Onaway area for 35 years. In 1970 she moved to Holly, then to Fenton, and eventually to Lowell. She worked at the Garment Factory in Onaway and the Zemmar Drug in Holly for many years as a clerk. Alice attended church at the United Methodist Church in Onaway and was a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed reading, walking, sewing and was known for her great sense of humor.
Alice will be sadly missed by her son, Fred (Arlene) Smith of Clear Lake; daughter, Carla (Larry) Thompson of Grand Rapids; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John (1968); three brothers; and two sisters. |
