Grace H. Faircloth, age 94, of Onaway, died on October 26, 2009 at Lois's Adult Foster Care Home in Onaway. Grace is survived by two nephews, Bradford L. and Scott F. Hall, and sister-in-law, Louise Hall, all of Melbourne, Florida. Preceding Grace in death are her husband, Virgil Faircloth on February 9, 1998 and two brothers.
Grace was born on February 17, 1915 to Fred and Marie (Backe) Hall in Bessemer, Michigan in the western U.P. On May 4, 1940 she wed Virgil Faircloth in Chisholm, Minnesota. Grace and Virgil were married 58 years at the time of his death in 1998. Grace worked as a supervisor for Michigan Bell, Pacific Northwest Bell, and Quest Communications from where she retired in 1973. After retirement Grace and Virgil lived in Atlanta, Michigan before moving to Onaway in 1984.
When living in Washington State, Grace was a member of Woodland Park Presbyterian Church in Seattle. She was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America and a lifetime member of the Onaway VFW Post 5857 Ladies Auxiliary. Grace enjoyed going out for dinner, baking, and cooking. Her hobbies included knitting and reading.
Grace's wishes were to be cremated. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Briley Township Cemetery in Atlanta. |
