Keith R. Brewer, Sr., age 74 of Onaway, formerly of Monroe, died June 24, 2009 at his home after a brief battle with cancer.
Keith was born in Monroe on November 6, 1934 to William Riley and Anna (Maletich) Brewer. On September 3, 1957 he was married to Barbara Ramsey in Angola, Indiana.
Keith and Barb have been vacationing in the Onaway area since 1970, but they moved to Onaway permanently from Monroe in 1995. He worked as a supervisor for the Ford Motor Company after honorably serving his country in Japan for the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 where he was a radio operator. Keith was a member of the VFW Post 5857 and a life member of the Monroe County Rod and Gun Club.
He was an avid outdoorsman. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and loved to snowmobile. He also liked spending time with his family and friends and woodworking.
Keith will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Brewer of Onaway; sons, Keith, Jr. (Susan) Brewer of Millersburg, Kirk R. Brewer of Onaway, and Kevin Brewer of Dundee; daughter, Kerry Kelly of Norfolk, Virginia; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Donna (Ed) Baranowski of Dundee, Carol Timmins of Monroe, and Mary (Stan) Zdeb of Brentwood, Tennessee; and brothers, Larry (Andrea) Timmins of Onaway, Thomas (Judy) Timmins of Grosse Isle, and Gerald (Kathy) Timmins of Houghton Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Lawrence Timmins. |
