Violet M. Burrows, age 95 of Afton, died April 3, 2009 at
Cheboygan Memorial Hospital.
Violet was born in Scottville on August 2, 1913 to Joseph and Pearl (Campbell) VanHuysen. On August 17, 1932 she was married to Thomas H. Burrows in Onaway.
Violet was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Onaway area. She was a member of the Afton Aides and the Forest Township Birthday Club. Violet enjoyed crocheting, baking, bird watching, and doll making.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Mary (Mike) Hawley of Afton, Clara (Ed) Apfel of Troy, and Donna Chaskey of Onaway; sons, Vance (Joyce) and Ken (Audrey) Burrows both of Onaway; 15 grandchildren;
28 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; and
1 great great great grandchild.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pearl VanHuysen and step-father, Oscar Vasser; husband, Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Ned and Luella VanHuysen; son-in-law, Louis Chaskey; great grandson, Terry Siler; and great grandson, Thomas Burrows. |
