Carla Connelly, age 62 of Onaway, died July 13, 2009 at the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. Carla was born in Detroit on January 29, 1947 to Roy E. and Harriet (Moran) Heiser, Sr. On December 19, 1964 she was married to Leonard Connelly in Eau Gallie (Melbourne), Florida. Carla grew up at Black Lake and attended school in Cheboygan. In 1966, the couple moved back to the Black Lake/Onaway area after Leonard retired from the United States Army where they had been stationed in Germany. Carla retired from the Onaway Medical Center in 2007 where she worked as a receptionist and also in medical records. She enjoyed camping and fishing. Carla also liked to read, cook, and watch Home and Garden TV. She enjoyed the computer and she and Leonard bowled on an on-line bowling league where they met people (on-line) from all over the United States. When Carla and Len traveled they would stop off in various places to meet their on-line bowling friends in person. Carla will be sadly missed by her husband of 45 years, Leonard Connelly of Onaway; sons, Tony (Mackie) Connelly of Guam and Wade Connelly of Onaway; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Rodriguez, Christopher Arisohn, Waldo Yamada, and Wyatt, Alex, and Matthew Connelly; 1 great granddaughter; sisters, Charmaine (Ken) Maas of Clinton Twp., Jacqueline (Mark) Uhazie of Romeo, and Karolann (Ryan) Valade, Sr. of Macomb Twp.; brothers, Roy E. (Darlene) Heisner II of Mt. Clemens, Richard and Harold Kever, and Robin Moran; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. |
