Robert "Bob" G. Eagleson, age 71 of Onaway, died May 26, 2009 at his home. Bob was born in Tower on December 14, 1937 to Cleatious and Viola (Sayers) Eagleson. He was born and raised in Tower and then moved away for about 40 years. After more then 13 years of service, Bob was honorably discharged from the United States Army, serving his country in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. In 2007, he retired from driving truck and returned to Onaway from Texas. While in Texas, Bob was a member of the VFW and the Eagles. He attended church at the Onaway Community of Christ. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially traveling. He also was an artist and liked to paint. Bob will be sadly missed by his companion, Helen Eagleson of Onaway; daughters, Suzanne and Ruth both of Germany, Lore' of Kansas, and Alura of Texas; son, Robert of Florida; step-daughters, Jannie of Tennessee, Pam of Florida, and Ellen of Alaska; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sisters, Grace (Clayton) Campbell and Carol Wiggins both of Onaway; sister-in-law, Wilma Eagleson of Rogers City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleatious and Viola Eagleson; brothers, Howard and Lawrence; and sisters, Betty Bowen, Elaine Gilbert, and Leona Reeves. |
