Ethel Marie Fenstermaker, age 68 of Tower, died August, 12 2009 at Mackinac Straits Hospital in St. Ignace.
Ethel was born in Roscommon County on May 13, 1941 to James and Juanita (Coffell) McMahon. On December 15, 1961 she was married to James Fenstermaker, Sr. in Onaway.
Ethel spent most of her life in Tower, but at one time lived in Midland and California. She worked as a homemaker and many years as a nurses aide at Green Meadows Nursing Home in Cheboygan and also in Midland. In recent years, Ethel volunteered as a foster grandparent at the Onaway Elementary School. She enjoyed going to Bingo and the casino. Ethel loved feeding and watching the birds, flower gardening, and baking. She also liked to fish and spend time at the cabin on the lake. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and had a special fondness for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ethel will be sadly missed by her husband of 47 years, Jim Fenstermaker of Tower; daughters, Melody (Mark) McShane of Petoskey, Shelley (Greg Tucker) Madden and Juanita "Skeeter" (Vinnie) Anglebrandt both of Onaway, and Melinda (Steve Price) Hambleton and Dawn (Ron Riley) Fenstermaker both of Tower; son, Jim Fenstermaker, Jr. of Onaway; 13 grandchildren;
18 great grandchildren; godson, Terry (Denise) York of Beaverton;
faithful companion and freind, Ginger; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and 3 sisters. |
