Kenneth Ray Freel, age 84 of Onaway, died June 21, 2009 at Lois's Adult Care Home in Onaway. Ken was born in Millersburg on May 13, 1925 to Charles Frederick, Sr. and Wilma (Smith) Freel. In December of 1948 he was married to Mona May McClary in Bowling Green, Ohio. Ken left the Onaway area in 1942 to seek employment in Detroit and always came back "up north" to visit family and friends. He has been back in Onaway since 2008. He worked as a machinist for Ajax Forging and enjoyed reading his Bible. Ken will be sadly missed by his daughters, Carol Jean Klingensmith of Redford, Karen Ray Gould of Brownstown, and Monica Leigh DeAngelo of Lapeer; sons, Oren E. Freel of Hazel Park and Frank Allen Freel of Brighton; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and brother, Fred Freel of Onaway. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Ray Freel, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Freel Dempsey, Evelyn Porter, and Christine Eldridge; and brothers, Harold and Lewis Freel. |
