Obituaries

 

William James Freel met his Savior face to face on the evening of June 17, 2009.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Grace Freel. Children Dr Paul (Rebecca) Freel, Coleen (Dan) Rook; grandchildren Stacy (Jim) Vereeke, Brad (Lori) Prince, Mindy (Matt) Tucker, Carmen (Dwight) Freel, Ben Freel, Katie (Grayson) Smith, Garrett Freel, Holden Freel; Great Grandchildren Ben, Audrey, Shea, Mikayla Elijah, Oliver and Daphne.

He is preceded in death by his father William James Freel, Sr., mother Anna Peetz, brothers Irvin, John, Earl and Ralph and a sister Violet.

 William was born and lived in the Millersburg area his entire 88 years of life.  He worked for the Onaway/Millersburg School District as a janitor and bus driver where he retired from in 1985.

 A Family man is the best word to describe Bill.  He loved spending time with his family, entertaining, going on long walks and watching the birds with Grace.  He also enjoyed riding his four wheeler, music and rollerskating.

William married Grace Dempsey on December 31, 1945 at the Onaway Methodist Parsonage.

He was a wonderful and generous husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa.He loved his family and his Jesus above all else!

His family knows he is walking the streets of gold in Heaven but in our hearts, we miss him deeply.  We will meet you in the air dad/grandpa- we love you!
