Elizabeth "Betty" Harrison, age 86 of Black Lake, died April 28, 2009
at her home.
Betty was born in Detroit on August 31, 1922 to Joseph Patrick and Laura Ann (Austin) Dewan. On March 5, 1945 she was married to Douglas Linwood Harrison at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Detroit.
Betty was a homemaker and also worked as a receptionist for an ophthalmologist. She retired in 1973 and moved to Black Lake from Southfield. Betty was a very dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and reading.
Betty will be sadly missed by her daughters, Judith Harrison Kalter of West Bloomfield and Linda (Boyd) Harrison Smith of Black Lake; sons, Marc Douglas (Carol) Harrison of Thompsonville, Gregory Christopher Harrison of Plymoth, Michael Dane Harrison of Dearborn, and Randall Terrance (Kristin) Harrison of Traverse City; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Marie Gossett of Black Lake; brothers, Jack Dewan of Farmington, Gerald (Judy) Dewan, and Patrick Dewan of Black Lake; sister-in-law, Suzie Dewan of Black Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas; and brothers, Austin and Tom Dewan. |
