Vida M. Richards, age 84 of Onaway, formerly of Indian River and Kent, Ohio, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at her home.
Vida was born in Akron, Ohio on August 26, 1925 to Harvery and Alice M. (Livingston) Wetzel. On July 26, 1947 she was married to James A. Richards in Akron, Ohio.
Vida and Jim lived for many years in Kent, Ohio before moving to Mullett Lake/Indian River to spend their retirement years. In 2005, the couple moved to Onaway to be closer to family. Vida worked as a homemaker. She was a volunteer for Hospice of the Straits and a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Kent, Ohio. Vida enjoyed traveling, reading, doing crafts, and needlework. She was an animal lover, especially eagles, and loved to watch the birds and squirrels at the feeders.
Vida will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Jim Richards of Onaway; daughter, Diann (Clarkson) Most of Onaway; sons, William (Suzanne) Richards of Benton, Louisiana, James (Lilia) Richards of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and Thomas Richards of Tallahassee, Florida;
9 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 5 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Wilbur Graham;
and brother, Lowell Wetzel. |
