Robert "Bob Ross" Ruszkiewicz of Afton, formerly of Warren, age 83, died Thursday October 29, 2009 at his home.
He was born on December 9, 1925 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Michael and Anna (Knitter) Ruszkiewicz. On November 6, 1948 he married Jane E. Krawczyk at the St. Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck.
Bob lived most of his life in Warren until moving to Afton in 2002. He worked as a machinist for Conveyer Engineering. Bob and Jane attended the St. Justin's Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading, fishing and watching any Detroit Lions, Tigers or Red Wings games that were on.
Bob proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a Bronze Star recipient.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years Jane Ruszkiewicz of Afton; 3 sons; Ronald and Patty of Warren, Gary and Nancy of Ferndale and Michael of Grayling; and 2 daughters Phyllis and Gilbert Bruniquel of Afton, Dorene and Tim Pinch of Warren; 17 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving Bob is a sister Eleanor "Sis" and Frank Wolcansek of Warren along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by 10 siblings.
Cremation arrangements are in care of the Chagnon Funeral Home. |
