Jack E. "Poopsy" Sheer, Sr., age 76 of Tower, died March 17, 2009 at his home. Jack was born in Traverse City on February 5, 1933 to Frank W. and Golda (LaLonde) Sheer. On June 10, 1954 he was married to Leona L. Wisniewski at the Asbury Methodist Church in Traverse City. In 1976, Jack retired from Grand Trunk Railroad in Port Huron where he worked as a crane operator. He and Leona moved to Tower from Port Huron in 1978. Jack enjoyed woodworking and doing crossword puzzles. He loved to go mushroom picking in the spring and work in his garden. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jack also enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Leona Sheer of Tower; daughters, Sandra (Robert) Ransom, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Golda (Jim Dimon of Port Huron, and Esther (Paul) Ransom of North Pole, Alaska; sons, Jack (Cindy) Sheer, Jr. of Port Huron and Robert (Janet) and Frank (Opal)Sheer both of Onaway; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; a brother; 3 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson; a brother; 2 sisters; 3 nieces; and 2 nephews. |
