Phyllis (Tucker) St. Germain, age 84, lifelong resident of Waverly Township (Onaway), died January 13, 2009 at the Golden Beach Manor on Huron Beach. Phyllis was born on March 19, 1924 at the Tucker Farm in Waverly Township to August and Clarissa (VanAllen) Tucker. On September 16, 1948 she was married to Donald J. St. Germain at the Tucker Farm. In 1990, Phyllis retired from the UAW Family Education Center at Black Lake where she had worked in food service for many years. She enjoyed many hobbies. Phyllis especially enjoyed the outdoors, watching the birds and deer, seeing the bucks taken my the family during deer season, and snowmobiling. She loved canning the food Don harvested from the garden, cooking for her family, and taking care of her boys. And she loved babies. Phyllis and Don enjoyed traveling on the motorcycle to many places throughout Michigan and the United States. Phyllis loved to dance; whenever she heard a good Polka her feet would start tapping. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Don of Onaway; sons, Dennis (Debra), Arden (Cindy), and Dale (Patty) St. Germain all of Onaway; 7 grandchildren, Tracy Morrow, Renee Adkins, Don St. Germain, Lesley St. Germain, Sasha Stoyka, Jennie Skaggs, and Susie Hayner; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her son, Larry St. Germain; sisters, Stella Smale and Hulda Thomas; brothers, Orvel, Nelson, Laurel, Ivan, and Cleo Tucker. |
