Charles Roy Edson, age 71, of Onaway, formerly of White Lake, Michigan, died at home on March 4, 2010 after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Charles was born on June 23, 1938 in Pontiac, Michigan to J.C. and Dorothy (Spencer) Edson. On March 12, 1960, Chuck married Kathleen Sue Cox at the Church of Christ in Pontiac.
Chuck worked for General Motors in Pontiac for 38 years. At his retirement in 1999 he was working as a reliability inspector. After living in White Lake for 33 years, Chuck and Kathy moved permanently to Onaway in 2009. They had vacationed and visited family in Onaway for many years. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked to travel and shoot pool.
Surviving Charles are his wife of 50 years, Kathy S. Edson of Onaway; two daughters, Ginger Lee (Terry) Roehn of Debary, FL and Wendy Gale Marotta of Waterford, MI; three sons, Tracy Charles (Camilla) of Waterford, MI, Mark Sean (Pam) of Westerville, OH, and Rocklin J. Edson of Texas. Chuck will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Drew, Molly, Frankie, Donny, Sidney, and Craig. Also surviving is Chuck's sister, Rose Czarnecki of Jackson, MI. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald J. Edson.
There will be a memorial service for Charles on Saturday March 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Onaway. Elder Jim Morgan will officiate. A dinner will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. |
