Jessie Catherine Scully, age 87, of Onaway, died on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at Tendercare Health Center in Rogers City.
Before moving to Onaway three years ago to be closer to her family, Jessie had lived in Almont her entire life. She was born in Almont on August 14, 1922, the daughter of Joseph and Amy (Webb) Treadgold.
Jessie worked for many years at the National Twist Drill Company of Rochester, Michigan. She retired from the shipping department in the early 1980's. Jessie served on the Almont Township Planning Commission. Her hobbies included solving crossword puzzles, knitting, and traveling.
Jessie is survived by two grandsons, Steve (Jeannine) Scully of Onaway and Bill Scully of Almont; granddaughter, Lori (Todd) Nowicki of Rogers City; great granddaughters, Jessica and Jasmine Scully of Onaway and Michelle Sorget of Rogers City; great grandson, A.J. Sorget of Rogers City; step great granddaughter, Emily Nowicki of Rogers City; and step-son, Lee Scully of Snover.
Preceding Jessie in death are her son, Bill (1978); great grandson, Harley Scully; sister, Barb Nolin; and brother, Bill Treadgold.
Visitation for Jessie will be held at the Chagnon Funeral Home on Saturday July 3, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Elder Florence Hughes will officiate. Jessie's final resting place will be next to her son, Bill, and great grandson, Harley, at the Waverly Township Cemetery in Onaway.
